Violet Mourning

Violet Mourning is the brainchild of Megan McKenzie, a lifelong Northeast Florida vocalist and songstress, and members Leroy Copeland, Trey Bass, Zac Furlough, and Michael Grissinger. Affectionately dubbed “rock for theatre kids,”Violet Mourning has aflare for the dark dramatics, often compared to the musical and vocal stylings of Evanescence and Halestorm. They are known for their soaring melodies, belting notes, and soulful writing.Critics have described some of their songs as “too big,” “too dramatic,”and “too epic,”and the band is just fine with that. Anyone who loves punk, alternative, or goth rock will want to keep their eyes peeled for their first full length studio album, which they are currently in theprocess of recording.
