Darren Ronan is a professional musician who has been playing professionally since the ripe old age of 16, earning just enough money to spend on video games, bubble gum and the occasional tank of gas. After years of touring around the southern and eastern United States in pursuit of fame and fortune and sleeping in a questionable van that spent more time in auto repair garages than on the highway, he realized being a household name might not be in the cards. So he did what many aspiring musicians eventually do: cut his hair, got respectable, and went to school to earn a music degree-the traditional backup plan for aspiring rock stars. After earning a piece of paper that declared he knew what he was doing, he started teaching music, even opening his own music school.
These days, when he's not teaching, he mostly performs as a solo acoustic act sharing his love of music and questionable humor. He regularly releases original singles into the streaming universe, where they compete bravely against cat videos, AI music and algorithmically generated playlists.
Darren also plays drums with the respected event band, "Now Is the Time," performing for weddings and corporate events throughout Georgia and Florida. Wearing a tie somehow makes hitting things with sticks seem much more respectable. His original song, “Here It Feels the Same,” was featured in a Welcome Jax promotional video, proving that at least one of his songs has a better resume than he does.
