
Chris Kastle is an acclaimed singer, songsmith, and author as well as an award winning storyteller, poet, and artist with a number of recordings and other publications to her credit in addition to a well-viewed YouTube Channel. Her performances possess powerful imagery with the occasional flavor of Celtic and Maritime traditions. Her songs reflect a range of styles and can express humor as well as heartache; she is known for inviting her audience to sing along.
Performances include a host of concert and festival venues throughout Florida and on tour. Locally, showcases at the Sing Out Loud Festival and being featured in the prestigious EMMA Words and Music Series as well as the Songwriters In the Round Series at the Larimer. She has shared her background as a one-time Irish pub singer, tall ship sailor, and world traveler in her original stories and songs through several Tale Tellers of St. Augustine productions at the Waterworks and Limelight Theatre including “Fair Winds and Following Seas,” “Growing Pains,” and her one woman shows, “Travel Tips” and “Pub Days.”
Chris is a teaching artist for Arts4All Florida and ACE Arts. “From the Icy Fingers of the Deep,” her book of short, scary sea stories got 5 stars in Goodreads; “Nonets in Nine Courses: Recipes in Verse,” a Rising Moon Press limited edition, was well received; she garnered 3rd prize in the Florida State Poets Association annual free verse contest and got honorable mention in the St. Johns County, Florida Haiku Contest. Chris is a recipient of the Annette J. Bruce lifetime achievement award from the Florida Storytelling Association and was a featured teller at the 2024 Florida Storytelling Festival.
