As a Music Educator and Performing Artist Arvid Smith has taken some unique turns outside of the box. Hs performance approach to his Wood & Wire musical instruments reflects their special sound and cultural role from around the world. Bringing it to students of all levels is a total enriching experience. From American folk instruments such as guitars and mandolins , to lilting Hawaiian melody strings on on to Asian and African Sitars, Tanpuras, Harps , the list goes on. . Students will come away with a unique hands on knowledge of how it’s done.

Since 1997 Arvid has been presenting through the Educational components of The Cummer Museum and Gardens , VSA Arts 4 All , The Riverside Fine Arts Series Project Listen, Florida Department of Cultural Affairs Residencies as well as Art Life. He has been a featured performer at Universities , as well as K-12 schools throughout the Country.. He also presents Workshop programs at Festivals such as Magnolia Music and Events , The Florida Folk Festival , Piccolo Spoleto and many others.
